Our commitment to copyright protection

BeatCannon respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (“DMCA”), following the procedures of 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Designated agent

Send all DMCA notices to dmca@beatcannon.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” Designated agent name and postal address: pending registration. This address is for DMCA notifications only.

Filing a takedown notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

Warning: under § 512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees. If unsure, seek legal advice before filing.

What happens after we receive your notice

We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers.

Filing a counter-notification

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). It must include: your signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the removal was a mistake or misidentification; your name, address, telephone number, and email; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district where BeatCannon may be found) and accepting service of process from the original complainant.
