DMCA Copyright Policy

Our commitment to copyright protection

BeatCannon respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (“DMCA”), following the procedures of 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Designated agent

Send all DMCA notices to dmca@beatcannon.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” Designated agent name and postal address: pending registration. This address is for DMCA notifications only.

Filing a takedown notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (or a representative list).
Identification of the infringing material with enough information to locate it — include the specific BeatCannon URL(s).
Your contact information — full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
Good-faith statement: “I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted material described above is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
Accuracy statement under penalty of perjury: “I declare, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner, or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
Your physical or electronic signature (a typed full legal name preceded by “/s/” is acceptable).

Warning: under § 512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees. If unsure, seek legal advice before filing.

What happens after we receive your notice

Review (1–2 business days) — incomplete notices get a request for more information.
Takedown — valid notices result in expeditious removal or disabling of the material.
User notification — the uploader is notified and given a copy of your notice.
Counter-notification period — if the uploader files a valid counter-notification, we forward it to you and may restore the content after 10–14 business days unless you notify us that you have filed a court action.

We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers.

Filing a counter-notification

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). It must include: your signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the removal was a mistake or misidentification; your name, address, telephone number, and email; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district where BeatCannon may be found) and accepting service of process from the original complainant.

Filing a false counter-notification may also result in liability under § 512(f).
