BeatCannon (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our music promotion platform, including our listening pages and feedback system. By using our services you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information we collect
Personal information
- DJ / host name — collected with feedback submissions for attribution.
- Email address — if you subscribe to mailing lists or contact us directly.
- Contact details — anything additional you voluntarily provide.
Usage and interaction data
We collect anonymous usage data on listening pages to improve service quality and give artists and labels campaign analytics: audio playback (plays, pauses, skips, listen duration), track and release downloads, session duration, feedback submissions (ratings, comments, favorites), and track preferences. All usage data is linked only to an anonymous session ID — we cannot identify you personally from this data alone.
Essential technical data
On all listening pages we collect a randomly generated anonymous session ID, your browser’s user-agent string (device/browser compatibility), the release and campaign IDs you are viewing, and your IP address. IP addresses are used for geolocation (country, region, city) and security; the resulting geographic analytics shown to artists and labels are aggregate only.
Email campaign tracking
If you receive emails sent through BeatCannon we track delivery events (sent, delivered, bounced), opens and clicks with timestamps, IP-based location of those events, and tracking tokens that link email campaigns to listening-page visits. This helps senders understand campaign effectiveness. You can unsubscribe from any mailing list at any time.
Account data (portal users)
If you are an artist, label, or industry professional using our portal, we store your account information (name, email, encrypted credentials, company/label name, role), your mailing lists, uploaded files (audio, artwork, metadata), and audit logs of account actions retained for compliance purposes.
How we use your information
- Service provision — delivering music, processing feedback, enabling downloads, and support.
- Analytics and improvement — understanding usage patterns and improving streaming quality and features.
- Security and compliance — preventing fraud and abuse, protecting content rights, and meeting legal obligations.
- Communication — service updates, responses to inquiries, and (with consent) promotional content.
Data sharing
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform — our email delivery provider (which processes recipient addresses, content, and delivery events), cloud storage and content-delivery providers hosting audio and artwork, and server-side IP geolocation. We may also disclose information when required by law, in a business transfer (with notice), or with your explicit consent. Aggregated, anonymous analytics are shared with artists and labels for campaign reporting and cannot identify individual users.
Data security
All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. We apply strict access controls, keep infrastructure patched, and maintain backups. Session IDs are random and non-identifiable, and we collect only what the service and your consent level require. Your rights
